novel cureOne thing I’ve always believed about myself is that I’m part of the problem, not part of the solution. So I was both thrilled and bewildered to find out that The Coffee Story features in the terrific new book by Ella Berthoud and Susan Elderkin, The Novel Cure, a new A-Z of literary remedies.

The authors are bibilotherapists, who recommend novels to cure particular ailments, in my case ‘coffee, can’t get a decent cup of’. Working from The School of Life, the authors have put together a fantastic collection of literary remedies.. At the launch last week it was terrific to see the authors presenting each other with novels that would help them with potential maladies, and the whole thing is a wonderful reminder of the power of literature to open the world for us.

So when you’re not buying my book, I think you should go and buy theirs, and get rid of whatever it is that ails you…
